Meet Ashley Brickner, Greenville, SC Local Artist and The Visionary Behind GVL Art Gallery & Shop
At Nest Realty, we believe in supporting the local heartbeat of our city, which is why we are thrilled to showcase Ashley Brickner. Not only is Ashley a gifted professional pencil artist with over 20 years of experience, but she is also the powerhouse behind the GVL Art Gallery & Shop at 14 S. Main St. Ashley was instrumental in helping us curate the incredible local talent currently hanging in our new office, and her own story is one of true entrepreneurial spirit and artistic devotion.
Ashley’s path to becoming a full-time artist was a gradual evolution fueled by a lifelong desire to be a business owner. After earning her degree in Media Arts from the University of South Carolina, she spent years navigating the sales and banking worlds. These experiences eventually led her to follow her dream of becoming a business owner.
In 2018, she opened her gallery on the bottom floor of a historic downtown Greenville building at 14 S Main Street. Ashley’s gallery is a cornerstone of the Greenville art scene, representing over 30 local artists. If you haven't visited yet, mid-February is the perfect time to go, as they are welcoming The Palmetto Bean Coffee Co., a new coffee and wine shop opening right inside the gallery! It’s the perfect spot to grab a drink and browse local talent. We also highly recommend stopping by for the First Friday Art Crawls (6 pm–9 pm) for live music, refreshments, and a chance to meet the artists who make our city so vibrant.
For our fellow real estate enthusiasts and clients, Ashley offers a truly unique service: she specializes in custom drawings of homes and pets, which make for the most thoughtful and timeless closing gifts. Her ability to capture the soul of a home in pencil is unmatched. We are honored to have Ashley’s work and her curated selection of artists as the inaugural display in our new downtown space.
